school school school.. let’s see, I’ve only had like 2 days of lessons & I’m as good as dead.

I’ll go through my lessons one by one (if it doesn’t bore you)

Design Fundamentals:
Okay, to give a brief explanation, it was like analysing propotions of drawings, designer works, the golden ractangle etc. it’s kinda boring for a first lesson (didn’t quite grap my attention) but i really tried my very best trying to comprehend whatever was thrown at me. so yeah..

Media Theory:
I wonder why the lecturer was going on about Mass Communication? oh well, that was what we went through. boring yet again. sign..

Colour Theory:
Hmm, things started to brighten up here =) But staring at the colours & finding out their afterimage is really painful to the eye, after repeating it for a few colours, my eyes were tearing. & I can’t do without my spects in this course (not a really good thing). I was getting quite fustrated when i can’t get the flow of the temperature of the colours right! damn..

AV Foundation for Moving Images:
This was fun =D We learnt about production house, audio house, post production house. how commericials were made & abit on editing of video using Final Cut Pro.

Fundamentals in Drawing:
FUN =D one of the more easy-to-past-times.. we were told to draw lines (different tones, pressure) & to create different emotions just by doing that. There wasn’t much teaching going on, just letting the charcoal flow with the fingers. But i realised i learnt the most out of that lesson. one of which is NOT to wear my new WHITE watch while drawing! especially when using charcoal. you get what i mean, i’m damn sad for my watch now

Communication Skills
Cute Lecturer =p (reminded me of Mrs J. Lee) she feels so english plus literature.. oh well. I feel that it should be one of the easiest to score in (i hope i’m right)

there there, you’ve heard from the first 2 days of school. not that exciting eh? oh well, Projects up ahead! 60s Advertisment on ‘Who Am I’ (i’m so not inspired by this topic) Presentation’s this friday, wish me luck! till then…

Okay, its about time i did DAY 2 & 3 of Orientation.

Day 2
I was late again =S (shall skip that! haha) we started off the day by meeting our lecturers. ha! & our director was a damn funny man =D i got a good feeling about his lessons being really really interesting!! He gave us an introduction about motion graphics & said that our course is very shiong, we’re going to have very little time to sleep, projects will be coming in every 2-3 weeks,competition will be very tough & projects are going to get quite challenging since we won’t have exams. yey? hmm, i’m not sure if that’s good.. he ended off with ‘anyone who cannot take it can choose to leave the room now’. woah! what a way to start!! if you think that’s all, think again! we got our very first project already. damn! & presentation is on the first week of school!!! stress har? luckily it was time for lunch & he can stop stressing us up =) the afternoon was for us to brainstrom for our cheers & skit & designs for the board. && we had ‘Mac Survival” -to anyone who doesn’t understand that, it simply means we were taught how to USE A MAC. it ain’t easy ok? for those who use PC religiously. haha! Games was in the late afternoon, we had a hell lot of fun =D my class was so damn kia-su for the game ‘longest line’ we grapped everything from our bags & in the end we won the game big time man! haha =) you’ll never seen a longer line =)) whee!! & then finally, its home sweet home..

Day 3
I was super duper late again =S (i don’t think you will want to know) we spent the whole morning designing & pasting & painting & drawing on our board. phew! & finally it’s like done =) I didn’t expect us to finish such a huge board within such a short period of time. cheers to MG01! we managed to squeeze in some time for the skit rehearsal during lunch & then its off to the stage baby! the other classes’ performances very really really entertaining =) soon it was our turn. I think we pulled it off quite well, so yupp! quite pleased with that.. finally it was the prize presentation. hmm, ONLY 3 prizes were given out & there were 18 or 19 classes (i think) *drum roll* & the winner is… … MGBD01!!! hell yeah!! we won =D =D =D =D =D =D what a surprise =) the OGLs did an entertaining performance to end the day & yupp, what a lovely way to end the Orientation =D

YEAH! hahaha.. FUN FUN FUN =D . I realised that my school’s abit werid to hold the Orientation 2 weeks before school starts, i mean most of the polys (or maybe all the rest) are starting Orientation next week (1 week before school commences) oh well. who cares? I bloody enjoyed myself =D

Okay for the last time I’m repeating this, I’m in NANYANG POLYTECHNIC SCHOOL OF INTERACTIVE & DIGITAL MEDIA (SIDM) DIPLOMA IN MOTION GRAPHICS & BROADCAST DESIGN (MGBD). phew! don’t make me say that again. I’ll KILL you!

ok, where was i? oh yar. DAY 1 of Orientation
As usual i was late. oh! but its not all my fault. heh =) I was abit blur & thought i didn’t know how to get to school from YCK MRT. So, after alighting at YCK i quickly identified some freshies that looked like they’re going for Orientation too & followed them. Little did i know that those girls were waiting for their friends! oh man! so, i s-l-o-w-l-y followed them despite the consequences that i’ll be late for the first day. So. FINALLY, we reached school. BUT i was so pissed with myself, cause i realised that the way to school from the MRT is so freaking EASY! a 3 year old kid wouldn’t even get lost. (haha, i think i couldn’t blame myself, i was nervous on the first day.) oh well, now i know =) what i way to start!
Directions to the reporting venue were pretty clear. I was supposed to report to the THEATRE OF THE ARTS (chim har?) So, i quickly registered, grap my Orientation bag & sat down. I was really late (i think) everyone seemed to be there already, the hall was filled & millons of eyes were staring as i walked in (okay, i’m exaggerating abit lah!=)) I’m quite shocked that we were seated on the floor? i know it sounds funny but i thought in poly we don’t sit on the floor like in Sec school. & worst! form a circle & play ice-breakers. But it was fun =D maybe i’m expecting too much (seated in a air-con auditorium & stuff). I took that opportunity to introduce myself to the girl beside me, Rachael =D we clicked of pretty fast & I’m glad i had her company for the next 2 days =) After Ice-breakers we went in to the REAL theatre of the arts got chairs one!! haha!! for a talk by the Director (sry, i forgot your name =S) blah, blah, blah. ohoh!! & the OGLs were SUPER DUPER FUNNY people!

After the welcome speech, we proceeded to the small lecture hall (i don’t know which one, coz there must be thousand of them in NYP, okay I’m exaggerating again, but its REALLY alot & mind you, you’re get lost!)
We were introduced to our course coordinator Ms.Tina & another guy (opps forgot name, bad memory) we viewed lots of advertisment, movie trailers & MTV! ha! they are just giving us a feel of what we will be doing in the course. COOL RIGHT?? haha! && the most exciting part! we will EACH (all 40 of us) be getting a MACBOOK PRO from the school but the sad part is we can’t bring it home. DAMN! But I’m happy that we’re going to get one (FOC YOU KNOW! i think lah)
After that we headed for a school tour, blah, blah, blah, boring… … the school is so damn bloody big (compared to the small YT) Then, we were brief about what to prepare for the skit & cheer & identity competition. & its END OF DAY ONE!

Orientation starts TOMORROW! & it ends on thursday. wow, how time flies. I realised i’m sortof getting over things (so don’t rub into it! =)) I think i’ll have lesser time to blog since school is starting & we’re all going to get busy again! like finally,ha? But I havn’t break off the holiday-mood yet!! But there’s something to look forward to when school starts =) Been ‘watch hunting’ lately & i finally saw the watch that i wanted RED DIGITAL WATCH FROM LAFON $26.90 ,got it off the teenage magazine April’s issue pg 26(if you want to take a look at it =p) If the watch comes in green! I’ll be on top of the world =D hahaha!! at least i’m planning to buy myself a gift when school reopens, or rather when i get my allowance (still a long time away) It’s not that i don’t have savings but i’m getting the ipod on my own now since i’ve earned some extra cash during the holidays!! yupp, so at least that would create some excitment into starting school, yeah!

Been wanting to blog about this for a long time, so here it goes. This should be a relatively long post(i’ll make it the longest thus far =D) because i’ve got lots to say out!

I’m about to move into a new phrase in life; tertiary education. I’m soooo missing YTSS&the 4 years i’ve spent there, its not the same like when i left my primary school.

Secondary 1
I came into the school not really know what to expect. YT wasn’t my first choice, so naturally was a bit disappointed. Was surprised that i made friends on my first day, haha ALVINA!!! i still remember what she said to me during orientation!! haha (inside joke) =) We became best partners ever since, she would always be in front of me in terms of register numbers. We would sit together in class & start gossiping & talking. hehehe. When it comes to our SPA test, its embraressing that we mixed up the vernier caplipers & micrometer screw guage to measure the ‘what ever give thing (i can’t remember)’ ended up being told off by Ms Soh & failing the test (i think) haha! It was also a rather rough year for me, its the first time i got scolded by a teacher SO badly, if any of the 1/8 peps still remember that incident, they should be having a good laugh now! haha. But it was seriously my fault now that i think back, I didn’t know what got into me when i actually stood up & told Mr Lim that his Geography lesson was boring. Its only right that he sent me&my table&chair OUT of the classroom. Sec 1 was also the year i got recruitted into the Student Council, that was when all the fun came in, we went for duties for PTR, Leadership camps etc. But ultimatly, Guides was the love of my life =D =D =D!!

Secondary 2
I’m still best friends with alvina, still sitting together in class & still talking non-stop (esp during maths lesson) something tells me that Maths & Me don’t go well together. hahaha!! Alvina would be so proudly displaying her 2 full-page of notes(maths) during EVERY maths lesson(mind you its EVERY lesson, for the entire year!) & we suld always not pay attention during Ms Tan LL ’s class, so she will never fail to make us stand & answer questions in class =) ohh, how time flies, it seemed only yesterday that me & alvina were gossiping in class (the usual) & bing han was trying so hard to listen, he ended up having a nose bleed, i wonder how many still remember that incident! ha. Guides started to kick off, was a little disappointed that i wasn’t promoted to PL but to a PS instead.On the bright side i got to know Nadia(who was my PL then), that really changed my life. Then suddenly a chance to prove myself, was placed in charge of the N2 Cluster Games (hmm, should be end of sec 2 i think). the many meetings we had a khatib macs & endless walking aroung Yishun Park, finally we managed to pull of the event. phew! It was really a enormous sense of achievement. Cheers to my team that made this all happen =D , can’t really remember what happened in council, execpt that we were rebelling against XX being the President, & alvina leaving the council (sad,sad). No major problems with teachers, no being chased out of class. I was rather well-behave in Sec 2 I would say *smiles*. at the end of the day, guides was still the love of my life!

Secondary Three
That year was the highlight of my Secondary school life. Secretary of the SC, followed by CL for Guides, i kicked start the year with a relatively heavy load (but i enjoyed the process). Was a very rough start to Guides (shan’t elaborate). For once i thought i was the worst CL ytss guides ever had, for once i thought the 2 PNA Golds were going to waste, for once i was so disappointed with myself. but thanks to my very committed leaders & support from my fellow guides (esp nadia) YTSS guides managed to pull through & clinch Gold for the 3rd time, which gave us the sustain achievement award.*WIDE SMILES* NDP parade was a challenging experience, but still i enjoyed every moment spent in Guides =D then there was speech day & i was given a chance to be the emcee, at first it was freaky but i kind of like it in the end =) Council was quite tedious for me when we started because i have to manage all the minutes & documents (i’m not really very good at that, you should see my table full of un-filed notes during O lvl) Overrall, Sec3 came & go at the blink of an eye, without me noticing i was posted to 4/5 when my mugging came in.

Secondary 4
MUG MUG MUG, & more MUGGING. But i’m very blessed to have met soo many great friends! (I wonder why I’m only opening up more in sec 4) haha, if you notice, alvina seemed to be my only best friend during lower sec (i’m usually good with everyone, but find it hard to find a best friend. [nadia is my babe!] Here came, Rachael (got to know her better after we emceed the 20th speech day, Candy (the girl with the unique laugh) & Cheryl (I started teaching her POA at first). Sherie (SLOW), Yiwen (always laughing at my crapy jokes), than there’s aida, shivani, amd, radhiah, shikin,hidayah, sharina & we formed NATIONS! muahahaha. (its a long story, so if you don’t know about it, too bad! =)) Field trip was the exciting part of Sec 4, signed up for the Yun nan, China trip, Bunk mates with babe!! (for the exciting ’scolding’ part, i would have to tell you in person, kindof kills the laughing effect when you read it off my blog!) then after mid-year it was more mugging! staying back at BK almost everyday to mug. Teacher’s Day Performance came, our class had fun (i didn’t know the whole class could dance, you can actually log on to youtube to watch the video, if you want to) hmmm, MORE MUGGING! staying in school till 9pm, somemore mugging, & lots of mugging for POA!!! LOTS. then it was the O lvl & result & posting & stuff like that (not very interesting. hehe =)) Overall, i would say my Secondary school life was quite a joyeous one. I enjoyed the time spent with my funky girlfriends, missed the food in the canteen, MISSED the old YTSS. missed wearing my school uniform, missed taking the bus to school, missed going to toilet together, miss joining up tables during POA lessons, missed going to fill our water bottles (while watching ’show’ outside that class =D) missed teasing ambert everyday!! missed singing the national anthem (erm? haha) missed singing WE WILL EXCEL!
